Outside the Echo Chamber – CD, Download & 7″ single box set.

Who would have thought that 2017 would be the year of an astral collision of epic proportions? Legendary dance pioneers Coldcut have joined forces with legendary reggae pioneers On U sound, to bring us ‘Outside the Echo Chamber’. From a reggae perspective the line-up of artists adding weight to the project is quite frankly awesome. The roll call includes, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Junior Reid, Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Doug Wimbish, Skip McDonald, Roots Manuva, the list goes on and on. With this much talent on show the project is going to be very special.

A couple of preview tracks from the set have been released on SoundCloud; you can have a listen below. The Coldcut / On-U Sound collaboration just works, why has this never been done before? This first infectious track ‘Divide and Rule’ is a celebration and distillation of their shared years of experience, history and influence on modern grooves. Have a listen and you will understand. This is what happens when the big boys wade onto the scene and drop an album.

The album is due out on the 19th May on CD, download and frighteningly for your bank balance, an eight 7” single box set. If someone wants to buy me the box then I will gladly marry you! Keep an eye on the Ninja Tune site for more details and to pre-order. I will be featuring more tracks on the run up to the release and I seriously can’t wait to hear the rest of the album’s tracks.

Are you looking forward to this album, let me know in the comments. Give me a share if you can and help spread the word. Bless, Toby
